We are getting closer to the upcoming three day multi-location Kean-fest Celebration of Life and we are still hoping for more information request forms to be filled out. If you can help us share this form to make sure everyone has been invited to attend and invited to request ashes/art/books/etc whether or not they are ables to attend it would be greatly appreciated.
Friday August 7th, what should be Kean’s 51st birthday, we will be kicking off at The Owl (formerly The Kelvin Arms) located at 2424 Dunstan Rd Ste 150, Houston, TX 77005. More information about this space can be found here. On Fridays The Owl is open from 2pm until 2am, and we intend to start arriving around 2pm and taking over the outside patio area in his honor. We have been communicating with The Owl and they have requested we keep them in the loop about overall amount of people likely to attend so they can have enough staff scheduled to take care of us. This is why the event interest forms are so important.
Saturday August 8th we will be attending Numbers night club, located at 300 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006. More information about this space can be found here. Saturdays Numbers is open from 9pm until 2am, we will be arriving at roughly 9pm and taking over the upstairs bar room area and dancing downstairs in his honor. We have been communicating with one of the owners and we should be all set for this part of the event, but we would still love to know who is interested in attending this event and making sure we are able to bring mementos for everyone who is coming so the event forms are key on this.
For the final day of Kean-fest, Sunday August 9th, we will be attending Brash Brewing, located at 510 W Crosstimbers St, Houston, TX 77018. For more information on Brash Brewing you can look here. The Sunday operating hours for Brash are 2pm until 8pm, so we we’ll be arriving around 2pm and just hanging out as it is a large space. We have not been able to get in touch with anyone at Brash to communicate with them about this event, but as it is a large open space brewery we are not anticipating any issues. This is also likely to be the easiest space to distribute ashes/books/mementos/etc so if your interest form has you attending this part of the event we’ll likely set the handoff up for this day.
As the event approaches we will be going through the data table of information in the forms and contacting people to confirm requests for ashes/etc, as well as firming up some attendance numbers to give locations a heads up. This will also allow us to make sure we’re bringing the right stuff to each event to fulfill requests for mementos. We appreciate you filling out a form and sharing it with others who may be interested in attending or those who are unable to attend but would still like something to remember him by.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating Kean’s life, though we of course wish we could be celebrating his birthday with him rather than in his honor.
